Hahnemühle Canvas Artist

The Hahnemühle Artist Canvas is a matte-coated inkjet canvas made of a polyester-cotton blend. It has a natural white colour without optical brighteners, and a coarse texture. With its premium matt coating, it produces sharp images with vivid colour, deep blacks, and high contrast. The canvas is acid-free, lignin-free, and age-resistant, making it ideal for high-quality fine art prints. We find this to be a particular good choice for artwork reproductions.

Hahnemühle Daguerre Canvas

Hahnemühle Daguerre Canvas is a poly-cotton inkjet canvas with a fine, uniform texture and a bright white, matt coating. This combination results in vivid colours, crisp details, and high-contrast black and white prints. The canvas is also acid and lignin-free and long-lasting, and its high weight yet excellent stretchability make it ideal for stretching on canvas frames.

Hahnemühle Canvas Metallic

Hahnemühle Canvas Metallic is a heavyweight canvas with a silvery-shimmering, high gloss finish that produces exceptional results. The metallic finish works well with images featuring metallic elements, reflections, ice and glass, architecture, landscape, night/city light scenes, as well as black and white photographs. The canvas is acid and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.

Hahnemühle Photo Canvas

The Hahnemühle Photo Canvas is a good quality 320gsm canvas made from a mixture of polyester and cotton fibers. It has a bright white tone and a matt coating optimised for usage in printing photographs. The Photo Canvas has been produced by Hahnemuhle to be a slightly lower grade than the Hahnemuhle Artist, Daguerre, and Metallic range, but we have found the Photo Canvas to produce excellent print results at a more affordable price point.

Frequently asked questions

Do you also offer canvas stretching and framing?

Yes we do, and we plan to add this service to the website at some point soon. In the meantime please get in touch and we can give you a quote for canvas stretching and/or framing. Our prices are very competitive.

I'd like to order, what should I do?

Please get in touch with us via our web forms, email, phone or Whatsapp. If you already know the canvas you wish to print on and the size, you may wish to use our online printing calculators to get an estimated price.

Please note that often canvas printing requires additional borders to be added to allow for stretcher around wooden stretcher bars. We recommend increasing your proposed print size by around 3″ to the height and width to account for this.

If you require tube and delivery this is chargeable to local Singapore addresses at $11. For self collection without tube this is free of charge.

What type of files can you print from?

We are generally happy to work from most file types but the best options are TIFF, JPG, and PNG. Its preferable if you can convert your file into one of these prior to providing to us for printing, but don’t worry if you are not sure how to do so, you may send it across to us and we’ll take a look.

My image quality might not be good enough, can you check?

Absolutely. Just send across your file to us via email or using our contact form and we can take a look. Please let us know the size you’re looking to print at as well so we can compare the image size to your desired print size.

How should I prepare my print file?

We recognise that not everybody is an expert in image file preparation for printing and as such please don’t be put off from getting in touch for printing if you are unsure about the below guidelines.

We are always comfortable to support as needed, but ideally your print file for JPG or TIFF would be uploaded to us in the following format:

– Saved as a JPEG or flattened TIF file
– 300 pixels per inch
– Saved in 8bit
– RGB colour space, or converted to the profile of the paper you are printing on

Please also specify if you wish to have additional border space around your print. The default is 3mm but we can adjust to meet your requirements.

Please get in touch if you require any additional guidance.

Do you offer image editing services?

Yes we do, we provide various image editing, enhancement and enlargement services. You can find out more on our restoration and enhancement services page or simply get in touch.
