Quality guide

What the numbers mean.

Pixels per inch (PPI) is how many image pixels land in each inch of your printed piece. The lower it is at your target size, the softer the print will look.

  1. 300 PPI and up

    Excellent

High resolution. Edges are crisp, fine detail is preserved. No concerns at all for fine art printing.

  2. 150 to 299 PPI

    Good

Meets the expectations most people have for a sharp print. Worth checking on a 1:1 crop, but usually fine.

  3. 100 to 149 PPI

    Borderline

You can still print, but expect some softness. Either reduce the print size, or send us the file for enlargement and sharpening.

  4. Below 100 PPI

    Not ideal

You'll likely see pixelation or visible blur. Print smaller, or ask us about our enlargement service before committing.
